Classes/Lessons
- BEGINNER'S GROUP I (ages 6 - 12) Saturdays 10 - 11:30 AM
- BEGINNER'S GROUP II (ages 13 & above) Saturdays 11:30 AM - 1 PM
- Open to beginner & intermedaite fencers, students will learn the basics of the sport, with an emphasis on coordination, positioning and movement. The group setting allows for interactive games between similarly skilled beginner fencers. New fencers are instructed on the rules of play and basic skill sets needed to begin fencing on the first day.
- MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH LEAGUE Tuesdays & Thursdays 4:30 - 6:00 PM
- A continuing enrollment group accepting beginner and intermediate recreational fencers, ages 11—14. Fencers will practice and compete against area middle school students. Course objectives include conditioning and flexibility, sport-specific footwork and blade techniques, and introduction to competitive play.
- ELEMENTARY SCHOOL YOUTH LEAGUE Wednesdays 4:30 - 6:00 PM
- A continuing enrollment group accepting beginner and intermediate youth fencers, ages 6-10. The class exposes students to all aspects of the modern Olympic sport of fencing. Conditioning, flexibility, skill building and structured play are the core elements to a fun and challenging class.
- COMPETITION GROUP Mondays 6 - 8 PM
- The Competition Group is for USA Fencing members looking to improve their competitive results. A specific fencing skill or idea will be presented in the first portion of class, and students will be led through exercises, drills and fencing games designed to enhance their understanding of the presented tactic. Students must be current members of USA Fencing and have their own fencing gear and uniform. INDIVIDUAL LESSONS By Appointment
- Individual fencing lessons are necessary for all age and skill levels, including beginner and elite fencers. One-on-one instruction is instrumental in the development of a student-athlete's game plan, and a challenging curriculum will keep students motivated.
